Yes it is. Because that's exactly what I received when I
chopped 4 ponytails worth of hair 2 weeks ago. With hair that long & thick, I washed it
maximum 3 days a week* (more like 2) and would typically only wear it down the first day before pulling it up. Not only did it take me a good 10-15 minutes to wash, rinse, condition, & repeat, but to blow dry? I would seriously dread those days. If I kept it curly? It'd take an hour to dry with a diffuser and I'd have huge rat nest tangles at the nape of my neck by afternoon. Straighten it? Consider my morning spent just with drying & flat ironing. Add in 2 not-so-patient kids and something silly us adults need to stay on (time & schedule, psh) and, well you understand why I not only wanted to chop....I NEEDED to.
Now? From shower to final hairspray, 25 minutes. But I feel like I'm not sure what to do besides blow drying it with a round brush and flat ironing the bangs.
I tried to do my usual
flat iron curl, but holy tight ringlets.
So I'm asking you. Now that I actually have time to do things with my hair, give me your best tips! I (along with every.single.woman. with hair on Pinterest) have been stalking the tutorials on
The Small Things Blog. They're amazing. But I'll take all the tips you've got to give
. Products, hair brushes, headbands, lay 'em all on me.
P.S. RIP sock bun. Yep, that's right. I never thought I'd see the day where my hair was
too short for my beloved sock bun. I
think Dustin is relieved by this because whenever he saw my hair in one, I think he imagined it to be a dirty jock strap.
*not to be misconstrued with only showeing 3 days a week. ew.
I suck at hair. I have finally embraced my curl and I just go straight curly all the time. I used a melting gel each day and let my hair air dry. Done.
ReplyDeleteYour new hair though suits you so well! You look awesome!
