You'd know that Pillow Talk is my favorite movie. That I carry a ziploc of Splenda in my purse/diaper bag. That on any given day there's 5 different boxes of open cereal in my pantry {and that I could eat cereal morning/noon/and night and did during both pregnancies.} And I can't bring myself to drink leftover cereal milk from the bowl. I think that's gross. I just spoon it 'til it's gone.
That the number 3 brings me comfort. That I carried around alot of fear & insecurities during my teenage years. That I see them come out every now & then and I hate it. That I wish I would rely on Jesus to help me more during those times, but I typically just keep them bottled in.
You'd know that I'm an admitted smother mother. That I know the hardest thing in my life will be letting my girls grow up. Become independant away from me. That I'm absolutely terrified of when that time will come. You'd know that I've memorized the girls hospital bracelet numbers. That I know I'll never be able to bring myself to toss their huge white kimono snap shirts they wore in the hospital.
You'd know that I curse like a sailor. And I'm very non confrontational. It gives me stomach pains & butterflies. But you'd also know that sometimes I just can't help myself (like when a jerk pours beer down my back for wearing an opposing teams sweatshirt). And then I get the adrenaline shakes & uncontrollably smirk because that it so.not.me....but I liked it.
That I think Bruce Springsteen is the bees knees. That my husband feels the same about Stevie Nicks. {Elder chasers we are.} You'd know that Dustin & I knew each other back in high school, but he thought I was a snob and I thought he was pompous. You'd also know that even though he irked me, I put an asterisk by his name in our high school year book, which labeled him as "a hottie". That his grin still makes me giddy. That I'm so grateful our paths crossed again.
You'd know that while I love my long hair, I wear it up 5 out of 7 days. And only wash it maximum twice a week. That I've had maybe 12 hair cuts my entire adult life. That I'm a teensy weensy afraid of personal change (but would absolutely love to change everything in my house/wardrobe every other month.)
That one time a car backfired the same time a bird pooped on me and I thought I was shot. That I've wanted to be a nurse every since I was 5, and would love to continue my education someday.
You'd know that a trip to the grocery store alone sounds like my idea of paradise. That if you quote a movie line, 9/10 times I'll be able to tell you the movie. That I could spend an entire day in bed watching reruns of Sex & the City, I Love Lucy, & Roseanne. And that I can recite every Friends episode word for word.
That Dustin & our daughters are my everything. That when I'm with them is when I'm most happiest. That they are my happiness.
And if you really knew me....you'd know that there's so much more.

ReplyDeleteThis is so fun - thank you for sharing all the little tid bits that make you so wonderful! So many were touching, though I have to admit the car backfiring/bird pooping one made me laugh out loud. I'm told that it's good luck to get pooped on by a bird?! Which is odd to me, but also exciting because I've also been pooped on by one of those darn things.
ReplyDeleteHugs beautiful momma. You are an inspiration!
