Top 2 Tuesday

0 comments

Thanks to my friend Jen at  http://www.babycarterscorner.blogspot.com/, I came across Top 2 Tuesday created by http://benandtay.blogspot.com/.
I'm all about the randomness of surveys, so I thought I would try it out. And whaddya know, this week is all about randoms.
This weeks topic~~>Random facts about yourself

  • 1. I've never gone out to eat by myself. Like in a sit down restaurant. I think it's extremely awkward and I was so glad when Brooklyn was born so she could "eat" out with me. Or ya know, lay in her car seat & sleep so I wouldn't feel weird.

  • 2. I don't eat the ends of things. Like hotdogs, pickles, bananas. Ew.Ew.Ew.

And the Winner Is....

Bow Wow Meow!
Brooklyn was so excited when we picked this up at Target the other day. She held onto it & kept saying "Arfy!! Meoooow!!" lol
Only thing is....Baby G is giving the major side eye to a toddler bed. I think she'll do really well it in....I hope. She just moves around so much in her crib, I'm nervous she's gonna fall out even though the bed has rails. You know me....I'll more than likely surround her whole bed with plush blankets and pillows. I just hope she's ready because we were hoping to pass it down to a certain Miss (although she'll be in our room in the bassinet for at least 3 months soooo we've got time.)
 Yesterday morning I woke up to Brookie yelling "Mommyyyy! Peeeeaz! Sank Youuu!" and when I went inside her room, she was hanging in her crib rails trying to get out.
When she saw me laughing she started giggling & shouting "Suck! Suck!" {which is gibberish for stuck lol}

I am sooo exited to get her room put together! Only thing is I'm not sure what color to paint her walls. Right now they're a neutral tanish/beige color and I think it needs livened up for a toddler. Whatcha think?

I was thikning maybe paint 3 of the walls a chocolate brown and then have an accent wall with the pink. Or maybe with the blue. Ohhhhhh I'm so indecisive! Which would you choose?

25 Weeks!

How far along? 25 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: Not sure this week. 13, 14...ish? The whole thought of "a pound a week" in the 3rd trimester is enough to give me the nervous squirts so I've been avoiding the scale.

Maternity clothes? A-huh.
Sleep: I adore sleep. My problem is that even though I love it, I never go to bed early. I actually went to bed @ 930p the other night and slept straight until 630a. It was euphoric.

Best moment this week: Picking up my prescription for Zantac....ahhh, sweet relief.

Food cravings: I usually have a bowl of cereal when I get home from work, but other than that, no must haves recently.

Gender: GIRL!

Movement: never stops. And I never grow tired of it either :)

What I am looking forward to: Laying out. Yes, yes I'll wear sunscreen.....but this albino needs to upgrade to normal caucasian.

What I miss: Tying my shoes without holding my breath.

Words Of Wisdom: Fiber One cereal bars are disgusting. Fiber One Carmel Delight cereal is the shiz. Just a lil PSA.

Milestones: Maternity leave starts in EXACTLY 3 months. YAY!

I seriously adore this girl. Even when she did make me eat some of her slobbery mushy naner.
Everytime I tell her to smile for the camera, I get this face. We're getting her 18 month pictures taken here soon (bad mommy is late, whoopsie!) I'm anxious to see what faces she'll make. Especially now since she also has a fascination of picking her nose and poking her tongue. Kodak moments indeed.

I love Carters. Their little girl clothes are so adorable, extremely affordable, and stand up really well after being washed multiple times. And the fact that they didn't have an online shopping site meant I'd always have to go to the Lodi Outlet to get to the store.......until now my friends.

CARTERS IS ONLINE!  Suuuuuhweeeeeet!

AND they're offering free shipping on orders over $50. Psh, that's easy to do....and themsome. Look at the loot Brookie & Sprout just came into.

{These little pants will match Sprout's personalized shirt (remember the post about the personalized package from Ebay) perfectly!}
And yes, I got more for Brookie. But big sisters deserve extra lovin sometimes!

All of this for about $60 including shipping & handling and tax.
I have a feeling we're I'm in trouble.....

And I'll Carry You By My Heart Always

Lately I've been posting about Sprout must haves and some Brookie wannas.
This is definately a Mommy must have. I absolutely love/need this.

Only thing is we aren't sure if Sprout will be a June or July baby. Pearl or Ruby. Brooklyn's a gorgeous Sapphire so either will look great. I just can't wait to have both my girls names around with me at all times. Scratch that...I just can't wait to have both my girls.

24 Weeks!

I never thought I would be one to broadcast such an extreme close up of my nekkid belly. But ya know, I got the most beautiful thing from these stretch marks. And I'm wearing them proudly, even if a just as beautiful thing decides to give me even more {please have mercy sweet child!!}

How far along? 24 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: So I was weighed at the doctors last Thursday. And it wasn't the electronic one, it was Emmanuel. And it was at 230 in the afternoon. And I had already eaten breakfast. And lunch {at Pizza Hut mind you}. And I'm seriouslly shocked that it only read a 13 lb weight gain. Although it's probably at least a pound or two off, I'll roll with it.

Maternity clothes? Yes sireee.

Sleep: sucks this week. I know I caught something from work and I've got the whole can't breathe out of my nostrils, very dry/sore throat, nothing tastes right thing going on. And since I'm tossing and turning all night, I keep getting up to pee. It sucks out loud.

Best moment this week: We are thiiiiiisclose to closing on a house!!! Squeeeeeeee!

Food cravings: I gave into the Dairy Bar cheeseburger last week.....twice. BUT BUT BUT I get a single, put veggies on it, get sweet potato fries, and drink water. And yes, that makes it justifiable to me!

Gender: GIRL <3

Movement: Lil Sweetcheeks does not sit still when she's awake! And when it's eatin time, she is WIDE awake everytime lol

What I am looking forward to: Decorating the nursery! And I'm excited to decorate Brookie's big girl room....I just can't believe she belongs in one :(

What I miss: Sleeping on my belly.

Words Of Wisdom: Prepare early. The wall letters I wanna order for Sprout's room take up to 8 weeks to get here. And she'll be here in roughly 14 weeks, so now's not the time to dilly dally.

Milestones: 24 weeks=VIABILITY! That is the most beautiful word to a pregnant women. It means that if {God forbid} Sprout was born now, she would now have a 50/50 chance of living. And that chance keeps getting better in the coming weeks. But this little girl knows to stay put....she knows I'll give her cheeseburgers and soft serve in there and not that boring breastmilk :)

Big Girl Bedding

3 comments

We're {Ok, more like I'm because Dustin is extremely go with the flow} so indecisive about what bedding to get for Brooklyn's big girl room. About 5 months ago I saw the Nature and Love from Circo set on sale at Target and snatched it up immediately. I didn't realize I had gotten twin bed size and the more we thought of it, the more we think she needs to be in a toddler bed first. Side rails=a weensy less bit of paranoia for Momma.

So here's our my favs.

Circo Bow Wow Meow from Target.
Brooklyn absoluely loves animals, especially dogs and kitties. I love the colors in the this one, but I really like the flip side of the comforter better. This one is probably my fav & you can't beat the price. $29.99.

Circo Purple Happy Flower from Target.
The one thing Dustin did say was that he was "so sick" of all the pink. {I'm not too sure he realizes that by being outnumbered 3-1, pink is in. Like Shelby from Steel Magnolias.}
I do like the comforter, but I'm not a big fan of the pillowcase and sheets. Price is once again good at $29.99.

Lollipop Jungle from Lambs and Ivy on Amazon.com.
I looooove this bedding. The polka dots, colors, animals. But that top blanket isn't a comforter. It appears to be more like a fleece blanket and it gets pretty nippy here {especially since Dustin's the thermostat police.} And the price is a little bit more, $59.97. I expect a comforter for that price.
Crayola Fairies from Wal Mart
Love the colors and the whole fairy theme is just adorable. Plus it's on rollback for $25 right now.
Which one do you like best? Since we're thiiiiisclose to getting a new house we'll be able to paint her room and get all new accesories for her. These 2 are a couple of my favorites (which will go with any of these beddings)

{Both from Target}

Whatcha think? I added a poll to the upper right side above my button. I'm leaning towards Bow Wow....but I'm pregnant. I'll change my mind in...maybe the flowers......

Finally!!! I've been anxiouslly awaiting flip flop weather and it's here. AND on my days off :) Today it's supposed to be sunny with no chance of rain and 63 degrees! And 65 degrees tomorrow. I'm giddy I tell you, GIDDY!
Oh....wait.....I'm scary albino white. And my feet are in seriouslly desperate need of a pedi.
Oh well!!! I'm rockin em today! So if you come across me, make sure you put on your shades. The sun is bound to bounce off my legs creating a glare like the eclipse. Just a warnin ;)

23 Weeks!

How far along? 23 weeks. {Pic taken at 23 weeks, 4 days}

Total weight gain/loss: After last week, I seriouslly haven't stepped on the scale at all this week. But that'll change today at my dr appt. So expect curse words next time.

Maternity clothes? Yep yep.

Sleep: is only possible if I have my body pillow <3

Best moment this week: This is Brookie related--She has been talking SO GOOD recently and I'm so proud of her. This week she's been repeating everything we ask her to say {it starts!} and associating things with words. Definately a proud mommy here!

Food cravings: I really want this amazing cheeseburger from the Dairy Bar next door to work. But I keep putting it off because I know it's friggin loaded with OB-yell-at-me-threaten-nutritionist goodness.

Gender: Sister :)

Movement: is all the time. Especially when she's awake--it's constant! And some of them are getting a lil ouchie...but I don't really mind.

What I am looking forward to: Flip flops and sunglasses.

What I miss: Being friends with my scale.

Words Of Wisdom: Drink your water! I know for some it's a huge pain, but I swear it makes you feel better. And look better!

Milestones: Umm...Dustin is still alive after all my bouts with mood swings. That's a milestone.

Birthday Weekend Chaos

0 comments

For Dustins birthday weekend 2 weeks ago, we decided to go out for a family dinner on Friday. And then to COSI and the Spaghetti Warehouse on Saturday. Sounded great in theory...

Friday night we had a great time with Dustins dad, step mom, sister, and brother in law. The food was soooo good {ohh how I love the Outback} and even though Dustin got a wee bit tipsy and announced to everyone what Sprout's name was (oh yes he did), it was a good night.
FYI--They love Sprout's name. So now both sets of his parents and my mom know. And Dustin's sisters. I'm trying to do "damage control" and just asked that everything keep it on the DL. It's not like it's CIA material, but we still wanna wait for her to be here to formally announce her :)

Before we left for dinner though, Dustin opened his presents. And yes, I ate a piece of cake around 5p BEFORE dinner. And yes, I got half white/half chocolate cake so I needed a mini piece of each. I just wanted to make sure I was gettin my moneys worth, ok?!?!

Lil diddy about my husband. He guesses everything. And he guesses right. I've learned after many disappointing bithdays/anniversaries/Christmases to not wrap items in their same box. Or to make sure to stuff it all to hell and back with tissue paper so he can't shake it.
So here he is opening an empty triffle bowl box......Yep, I wrapped it and everything.

And then he opened his other box and found this :)
He's been asking for this old school Charles Nagy jersey since before Christmas and I kept telling him No, it was too expensive! But I suppooooose he deserved it. And he loved it AND was suprised. Mission accomplished.

On Saturday we left bright and early to head over to COSI. I, stupidly, forgot my camera....but I'm kinda glad because the day....well, it didn't go according to plan.

It took a little while extra to get there since the Arnold Classic was in town and right next door to COSI. When we get there the line is circling outside the building. Apparently Dora was there. And these people must've truly thought it was the Dora. Flew up from Mexico hand in hand with Boots with Map in her Backpack,Backpack.

After waiting in line for about 60-75 minutes we finally got our tickets. But guess what? Brook Cakes is fast asleep. And the whole purpose of us going was for her to play in the toddler room. So Dustin, Mom, and I looked around Grossology, the Ocean, the Human Body, all that kinda stuff.

After Brookie woke up we went up to the toddler room and she, once again, absolutely loved it there.
This little girl is obsessed with bouncy balls {I don't know how to say this without it sounding just ew}. The whole time we're there she has 1 in each hand. And would bogart them from other kids.

Examples from past experience:
Wind in face but a ball in each hand...

and here....
Single fisting here...
Changin up the colors...
and again here...
Balls everywhere!

And this one is just freakin adorable. Oh and there's a ball in the left lower corner.

Dustin did get a video on his phone. I'm pretty sure you can guess what she's holding onto.

Ok so after we were spent at COSI, we walked over to the Spaghetti Warehouse. It's packed there but we got a table in the corner and were good. Now Brooklyn was teething...molars to be exact. And that makes her a crabby patty. So in order to keep her calm, we were giving her Goldfish crackers to munch on. Well Dustin decided to get her pizza flavored fishies. And that's exactly what it smelled like when it come back up.
Yep, she wretched everywhere. All over her cardigan, jeans, shoes, highchair, floor, everywhere.

Best part? The stupid 40 something year old woman with the ugliest tightest dirty blonde curly ringlet hair wearing a Steelers jersey AND sitting in between 2 children I assumed were hers shouted "OH EW! GROSS! THAT'S DISGUSTING! SHE PUKED!"
Seriously...if looks could kill.
And on top of that, the food blew.

So we decided that while we were in town we'd stop by the mall. I wanted to go to Motherhood Maternity and get some new bras and an outfit for Easter. Neither of which I got by the by. Why? Because Brooklyn got the squirts. And the nearest bathroom was a 10 minute walk away and up on the 2nd floor.

I was spent. My back hurt. Sprout was kicking me in the crotch. I was just dunzo. I wanted a lemonade from Annie's Pretzels and then be on my merry way.

So all in all, it was not the greatest day, BUT it was a day spent with my family and I love that. Do I wanna go to COSI again any time soon? Nope, nu-uh, not even a lil bit.

And p.s....The smell of pizza still makes me gag a lil bit....

Whatcha gonna do with all that junk?

0 comments

All that junk inside that trunk?!?
Poor girl. Both her Momma and Daddy lack in the booty department. Hopefully she picked some up from our extended family!

She looks like such a big girl in these next couple pictures. Her hair is actually growing out on top and getting longer in the back. Her mullet days are finally numbered!!

I adore this pic. She loves to lift up my shirt, shout Sissy!, and then give my belly some rubs and smoochies.

Now comes the great playfood container fiasco.
Step 1--Empty container {which she normally does with glee as everything spills out. Then, of course, she has to rumage through it to find her favorite items whilst scattering these little plastic pieces everywhere. It's a blast when she does this beside the couch and everything goes underneath}

Step 2--Hold onto tent and insert foot inside empty container.

Step 3--Look a little bit too excited that you're wearing a plastic container on your foot.

Step 4--Get angry when you realize that you in fact cannot walk with this thing on your foot.

Step 5--So you instead wear it on her your head. Then it's easy peasy to walk. Breathe? Perhaps not so much, but at least you're a-walkin!

Step 6--Yell at Mommy when she takes the little death trap away.

Step 7--Invest in the real good stuff. Goldfish crackers are....

YUMMY!!!!!!!

And then, on a side note, show Mommy whatta good big sister you'll be. Yes this baby is eery looking, but she loves it. She'll rock it, shhhhush it, feed it, drag it around, slam it in her toybox lid, step on its face, ya know, everything I expect her to do with her sister.
Please reassure me that 2 under 2 won't be thaaat bad....right?!?
