Some Sprout Must Haves

So when Dustin & I found out we were going to have another girl, we were definately excited. One of the main reasons why?
 Hand me downs.
We've already got the car seat, the single stroller {we'll definately need a double reguardless}, totes (oh yes, plural. As in 7) of clothes/socks/shoes that are similar season for Sprout, headbands, bows, toys....we got it all. But who wants all hand me downs? OK, so she won't even understand the concept of her older sisters old school stuff until like middle school, but how fun is that? Especially for a woman who luuuurves to shop, like me =)

I give you Exhibit A

Who could seriouslly resist these?!?
Rufflebutts make me happy <3

And I definately couldn't turn away from these. Ohhh the picture ops we'll have!
These are both Carters brand....these people seriouslly need a website. But I got these at JCPenney. And Kohls has a great Carters section as well.

As far as some must haves. There are a couple....for now.

First of all, I will definately be ordering this bundle package for Sprout. I've bought from this Ebay seller four times. Once for myself and then three other times for family members & friends. She does adorable work & you can't beat her prices!
Her store name is Sew*Younique*Boutique and she's great to work with!

Included in this package is a personalized hat, onesie, & bib.
Brooklyn wore her hat home from the hospital...
and we received soooo many compliments on it from the maternity ward nurses. They all loved it!

OK, I had to throw this picture is here because it just cracks me up. She's about 6 or 7 months here and the beanie is just a weeee bit snug...she looks like a lil street tuff ha!

Here's Brookie modeling her onesie. They come in sizes NB-12 mo and we went with newborn so she could wear it right away.
Edited~~>I fibbed. They come all the way to size 24 months.

And here she is wearing her bib. What's great about this bib is it grows with your baby. It's not only for 3 month olds or whatever. In fact, Brooklyn still wears hers....althought it's not very white anymore. More of a sweet potato/green bean/juice stained color, but she still rocks it.

We aren't too sure about a coming home outfit yet {still looking}, but we've got something for Brookie to wear when she meets her little sister for the first time <3

This is from Etsy. I've only bought one thing from this seller but the work was great & shipping was fast. Definately recommended!

I love this bow. This is also from Etsy and was a steal for only $2.50!

For Brooklyns 2 month pictures she wore this darling flower hat. I love how these turned out and I'm wanting the same for Sprout.
Although we still have it, I'd like to get something a lil different but similar for her.
I've ordered from http://www.pinkbowtique.com/ many times and have always been so impressed with them. In fact, with my very first order they threw in an extra pink and white polka dot headband just to say Thanks. These women are so sweet and have the cutest bows, headbands, and hats.

So I was thinking of something like this
or this

Whatcha think?!?
I think I like the yellow better....well maybe the lavendar. Or maybe both!

We are almost all set for this little girl.

  • Bedding {check!} And once we get all situated house wise, I'll definately make a post about Sprout's nursery and Brooklyns big girl room!

  • Clothes {ohhh check! We'll go through Brookie's totes here in the spring and other than some socks and onesies I think we'll be good. Well, that is until I get the shopping itch again}

  • Car Seat, Pack N Play, Bassinet, Receiving blankets {check, check, check, check!}

  • Baby sling {we have a Balboa, but I would love a Moby....so semi check!}
My breast bump will need replacement tubing and we'll need new bottles and nipples. Speaking of nipples, I'll definately be loading up on bra pads and nipple cream! Then we'll get some new binkies, burp cloths, and some iddy biddy diapies....then I think we're good.

Wow. I seriouslly cannot believe tomorrow is March 1st....I can't believe she'll be here 3-4ish months....I can't believe she just kicked me so hard my phone hopped on my belly =)

21 Weeks!

How far along? 21 weeks.

Total weight gain/loss: The scale at home said 9 lbs last night. Then again that was after a full day of grazing soooo I'm not sure. I'll guess right around 8.

Maternity clothes? As always. Definately starting to not be able to wear pre-pregnancy shirts. Drawstringless pants are definately out.

Sleep: is bliss <3

Best moment this week: Getting a saaaaweeeeet deal on our Droids. Add BW3's and a cherry coke, and that put a perma-smile on my face.

Food cravings: Chicken McNuggets=my crack. Throw in 3 packets of Sweet & Sour sauce & Candy Finnegan will need to set up an Intervention for me.

Gender: GIRL xoxo

Movement: Occurs all day throughout the day. I absolutely love it. Only thing is Dustin hasen't been able to feel her yet :(

What I am looking forward to: Dustin's birthday this Friday (the big 27!) & then COSI and The Spaghetti Warehouse Saturday!

What I miss: Smooth skin. ProActive tries its best, but my T Zone is a lil beyotch. And my chin...what the eff is up with you?!? Clear up or ship out!

Words Of Wisdom: Get a Droid. lolz.

Milestones: Still able to sleep {semi} on my belly. Not down right flat, but basically still there. As a lover of belly sleeping, I'm soaking this up because I know it isn't gonna last much longer!

Y3W

Thanks to my good friend Jenni, I decided to start doing something called Y3W.

What's Y3W? Jenni explains it best here http://babycarterscorner.blogspot.com/search/label/Y3W

Basically Y3W {Your 3 Words} lets me come up with something weekly and only be able to use 3 words to describe it. Sounds fun huh? I'm excited about it so start looking for these weekly.

And I've got the perfect one this week.......
That there is a belly full of cottage cheese & jammy sammys. She kinda resembles someone here......=)

It's a Mullay....Sounds Fancier Dontcha Think?

Ohhhh Brookie, I feel so bad about your hair. Mommy has naturally curly (and extremely unruly) hair and I figured you would too. But you definately inherited Daddy's hair {and color which I love}.

It's straight....won't curl at all unless she's sweating, then it's a Jeri curl....it's basically a mullet.

But nothing cracks me up more than when it's up in a ponytail. Only the party in the back will go in the hairtie. The business part is too short & gets clipped to the side. My lil AC Slater lol

Oh & you'll notice at the bottom of this post what happens when your toddler is quiet.....a lil tooooo quiet.

Nakey Belly Inside!

20 weeks, 4 days. Belly full of Olive Garden & juuuuuust a touch of Coldstone :) Only thing missing? A popped button! I feel like my belly looks like a capital B, but my button has always been like a crater & it never fully popped with Brooklyn, so I doubt it will with Sprout.

I feel like if I just plopped this slab of baby goodness on a scale, it in of itself would weigh a good 5 lbs. I wish mother nature would spread some of this belly love to my butt.....let's not lie folks, it needs it.

FYI---I love being pregnant. Yes, I'm one of those women. I can't help it, who couldn't resist a nice round {err, B shaped} mid section?

Oh & p.s....yes (those of you who click on the picture to make it bigger) that's a lonely stretch mark above my belly button ring scar. Poor guy is the cheese sits alone since all his other friends decided to create a worm farm on my lower abdomen.

And it Burns Burns Burns

Hi, this is me today. 2 words for ya. Acid.Reflex. ughhhhhh

With Brooklyn this also started around 20 weeks. It's not heartburn as much as it's a flame sensation residing in my throat. I try to swallow it but it won't come up {thankfully} or down {ugh}.

Guess Chipotle tomorrow wouldn't be the greatest idea, no? Psh, I'm still gonna.

TJ Maxx is my homeboy

Got one near you? Get there STAT! Thanks to a text from my friend Lyndsay I scored the deal of the century {ok, maybe just of the week. But I'm still pretty stoked about it!}

I love anything baby. I love a good deal. So I had come across Kenneth Brown's nursery sets but at prices way over $200-$300 I was like Ummmm....I'll stick to my Pottery Barn Kids clearance TYVM!

That was until we went to TJ Maxx yesterday. Lyndsay told me there was a bedding set at the store near her about 90 mins away from me. What are the odds one would be at this store?

Good my friends....the odds were very good!

I scored this absolutely adorable Ladybug Paisley bedding for $60! Sixty dollars!!!! It's running for $260 on his main site. Oh & that lamp? Ten bucks......$58 online. Could I BE more excited?!?

Belly Comparison

First of all, is it spring yet? Check out that May tan on KU-ed Ashley circa 2008.

Secondly, wow Sprout is riding much lower & rounder than Biddy (Brookie's nickname in the ute) did.

I'm definately rounder this time around, definately more popped out. Most definately paler.

P.S. I was thisclose to putting Sprout's actual name under my picture. This whole keeping it a secret thing is much harder than I thought it would be.....maybe I'll spill the beans before bday.....mayyyyybe......

20 Weeks!

How far along? 20 weeks. Wow.

Total weight gain/loss: I was dead on with my guess last week. I'm up 7 lbs (8 ounces. Who really counts ounces anyways?)

Maternity clothes? Fo sho.

Sleep: Hasen't been too great this week. I've been up by 630a even on my days off & I can barely breathe out of my nose at night even though I'm sleeping on 3 pillows. This sinus infection has to end sometime!

Best moment this week: Seeing Sprout again at our growth u/s. She was very calm (I didn't get her all riled up with sugar this time) but she still wasn't shy about her lady bits. She's definately still a she!

Food cravings: Kendra's pasta salad. I'm telling you, this stuff is the shiz. And she makes it so it's good for you, my clever bestie!

Gender: GIRL xoxo

Movement: Is more so at night and still pretty low. And with this anterior placenta I haven't been able to feel an outside kick yet ::anxiously waits::

What I am looking forward to: Feeling better! Regular Sudafed & cough drops aren't cutting it.

What I miss: Staying up past 10p. For V-Day Dustin wanted to see Mel Gibson's new movie. Only thing is they only had a 10p showing, but we still went. How was the movie? Ask Dustin, I fell asleep 20 minutes into it and only work up sporadically whenever I heard a gun shot or DAMN IT!

Words Of Wisdom: If you're sick & pregnant, take the meds the Dr suggests or prescribes. With Brooklyn I always tried to suck it up because I didn't want to take anything "just in case". But now I realize a sick mommy isn't good for baby & I say pass the gel tablets!

Milestones: My very shallow belly button is inching it's way to the surface. It never fully popped with Brookie, we'll see if it does with Sprout.

Sprout is Finally Official

After weeks of disagreeing, at least 50 vetos, some whining, some compromising, & 2 lists made by each of us, Lil Sprout has a name. YAY! What is it??

Stayed tuned for this summer ;)

I know, total teaser but a suprise is fun!

Not only good for the tush

But apparently Desitin is yum for the tum!

I changed her diaper, leave the room for an uber second to throw it away, & walk into the front room to this. What do I do? Laugh, run out of the room to grab the camera out of my purse, then keep saying "Look at Mommy! Look at Mommy! Ew stop eating!"

A good teeth brushing, a sippy full of juice, & a wet washcloth later....I still smell that awful stench on her breath.

Poor girl looks so sad here! She's definately not diggin her new nickname--lil miss Reeky McStinks breath!

Happy Valentines Day

What a difference only 1 year makes.

Wearing her new dress Grammy made :) She absolutely loves her new My Pal Violet dog. And I do too. You can personalize her using your computer. So Brookie's Violet says Hi Brooklyn, I know your favorite color is pink, you love dogs, & your favorite food is grapes. It's the cutest thing! Well, besides my lil valentine here.

Um...She's Beautiful??

19 Weeks!

How far along? 19 weeks. Picture from Valentines Day Date Night xoxo

Total weight gain/loss: Will be determined Thursday. I'm saying 7 lbs....*crosses fingers*

Maternity clothes? Oh yes.

Sleep: Is alright. Sometimes she likes to kick looooow (like I think she's already coming out low) and that definately wakes me up.

Best moment this week: Last night. Dinner, shopping, & movies with my husband. It was amazing.

Food cravings: Miller's onion rings. And I hate onions....basically I just want their inredibly crunchy batter.

Gender: Girly :)

Movement: Now occurs at least once daily which I love....even when she is kicking me in the who ha.

What I am looking forward to: Another ultrasound this Thursday to check all of Sprout's measurements.

What I miss: Wine. Last night I wanted Merlot so bad at dinner. Instead I "enjoyed" a Shirley Temple. I think the bartender felt my pain, she gave me 2 cherries.

Words Of Wisdom: Take the time before your baby comes to have nights out with your husband. Or even if you have children, make sure at least once a month you go out. Even if it's for an hour, even if it's during the morning or afternoon, just make time for the 2 of you.

Milestones: Technically we're half way there (Ohhh OH! Livin on a prayer!!) considering I'll be giving birth between 38 & 39 weeks. Oh.em.gee this is going fast!
P.S....all you preggers, invest in Jergens lotion tanner. After only 3 days of using it, I got a good glow for my date night. I'm not gonna lie, I miss tanning beds {alot}, but this stuff works pretty well! Well, that & bronzer :)

SnOH My Gosh...It's A Girl

Wellll my week started off great. I was SO EXCITED about our ultrasound set for Saturday the 6th. We were gonna take Brooklyn with us to Westerville and find out if she was going to have a baby brother or a baby sister. I had heard that a snow storm was gonna hit but we hear that alot in Ohio & half the time we get maybe a couple inches.

Fast forward to Friday when the snow just would.not.stop. All afternoon, all evening, all night. Dustin & I said Eh, we're Ohioans, we can drive in anything.

So Saturday morning we woke up bright & early around 7a. Our appointment was about 90 minutes away in Westerville at 1045a. We were under a Level 2 here in B-Town, but it was waaaay worse near Columbus/Westerville. So we decided to cancel & stay home.

I threw a tantrum. Well, not really a tantrum, but my pregnancy hormones got the best of me & I cried for a good 15 minutes. I was so psyched about that day & had planned it for over a month. And then BOOM, white devil spews itself everywhere & my day is shot. At about 930a Saturday morning we were under a Level 3 so I'm actually really glad we didn't go...even though at the time I was in Bum City USA {waaa waaaaaa.}

I called to cancel our appointment & reschedule for Sunday or even the next Saturday. The lady goes on to tell me they're closed Sundays & booked for the rest of February. Peachy friggin keen. Then I remember a friend of my moms found out the sex of her son when she was 14 weeks pregnant in a town about 20 minutes closer. Soooo I figure why not, let's try it.

And SCORE. Ultrasona in Columbus=my love. They were open on Sundays, they had a spot for us @ 10am. Sure, they were a tad more pricey, but we were stoked! Only thing was we decided not to bring Brooklyn. We weren't too sure of how the roads were going to be & how well she would behave at Ultrasona. So we left her with my momma & off we went Sunday morning (2 hours early juuuust in case of the road conditions.)

We get there in under an hour (roads were great) so we go inside & wait....and wait....and wait. I'm chugging apple juice, water, & chocolate milk, trying to get this baby a-movin. With Brooklyn it took 3 ultrasounds before she showed us the goods. She was a lady laying on her belly with her legs firmly closed.

We finally go back into this huge room with flat screens on the walls & a huge sectional couch. This room could've fit 20 people. Soft lullaby music was playing, candles lit, it was gorgeous. Our tech, Kelly, was amazing. She answered every single one of our questions & was so sweet. Our session was to last about 15 minutes, but we spent over a half hour with her.

First she took some 2D shots of Sprout.

We got to see Sprout moving around ALOT. Kelly goes Wow Mommy, you feeling all that? And the truth is I barely was. When I asked her why she did a lil searching & said There's why. You have an anterior placenta.

Dustin's face filled with fear but she told us not to worry, that most women have a posterior placenta {meaning it's the back of the uterus} and that mine was anterior {meaning in the front of the uterus} which is why when Sprout kicks me, I don't feel much of it because she's basically kicking the placenta, not my abdomen.

Whew....that made me feel so much better because me, Paranoid Patsy, was assuming the worst.

Anyways, babys hearbeat sounded perfect, nice & strong at 156 BPM.

Then came the big reveal. Sprout was laying breech (<--------> thisa way) so Kelly had to do some digging. Dustin & I were holding hands, giving each other lil squeezes, anxious to hear the news.

Then she said Ahhhh, plain as day. And we saw this pop up on the screen.....

My heart skipped a beat. I knew it, I just knew it! I looked over at Dustin who was smiling with a tear coming down his cheek. I told him Look Babe, you've got 2 Daddy's girls and he smiled & said That's right! all matter of factly lol

Now did we feel any gender disappointment? I'm gonna have to go with yes... very slightly. This very well could be our last child, we don't know. Do we want to experience raising a son? Sure! But are we crushed? Absolutely 100% not. The slight disappointment feeling left rather quickly at the thought of Brooklyn having a baby sister only 22 months younger than her. Dustin loves the idea of Daddys girl & I can't stop thinking about going prom dress/wedding dress shopping, the girls being each others Maids of Honors. Tutu's, hair bows, PINK, gymnastics, I love it all! So as much as we would've loved a boy, we love 2 girls just as much.

Now for some more pictures. Now mind you, Sprout is only a mere 18 weeks old and is actually measuring ahead. {Dr. Huggins has my due date for July 14th, Kelly found it to be July 10th.} She weighs 8 ounces, which is measuring about 2 ounces heavier for her gestational age, and is just about 9 inches long, which is right on track. Homegirl just needs a lil more meat on her bones :)

I have a couple favorites. One of which is her legs. Sprout's crossed legs are the first picture....and right below it is Brooklyn's 24 week ultrasound picture with her legs crossed. Such little ladies I have! Daddy is certainly proud that they've both learned this so quickly!

This is also a fav! Ohhhh to be a fetus. Arms behind head, smirk on her face. All this chick needs is sunglasses, a margarita, & Jimmy Buffet playing in the background and she's set!

Rubbing her sweet lil eyes

Hmmm....pondering a possibility.

After we left Ultrasona, with a DVD, picture CD, & about 25 indivdual pictures {seriouslly, these guys were amazing. Google Ultrasona in Columbus if you're interested!} we headed off to Polaris to do some shopping and eating!
We got there around 11a & the stores didn't open until noon. So we went to the Cheesecake Factory for some good eats. And me oh why, good eats was what we got.
On the left, my amazing Pineapple Upside Down Cake Cheesecake. And then Dustins Dark Chocolate Coconut Cream Cheesecake. Shhhhamazing!

Now, Brooklyn was a *semi* summer baby & she has a TON of clothes. But did that stop me from doing a lil Sprout shopping? Absolutely not. Who could turn down size newborn dresses & rompers? And I absolutely had to get the girls matching jammies, one saying Big Sister & the other saying Baby Sister.
I cannot WAIT to see my girlies together. I feel so completely blessed, so completely happy....so complete.
