Day 1

It's day 1 of my 30 day blog challenge! Let's get it started {in huuurr}.

Day 1: Introduction, recent picture, and 15 interesting facts.

I'm pretty sure by now, most of you know who I am. But for new readers {Welcome!}, we'll go through the whole shpeel.

I'm Ashley. 25 years old. Married to a devilishly handsome man for the past 3 years....college sweethearts that have been together since the day I turned 18. Mommy to two absolutely amazing girls who are exactly 21 months and 3 weeks apart. And since I am a mommy & a wife, my most recent picture includes the 3 loves of my life.
Those are the most important things. Now for the random facts.

one. I'm mildly obsessed with the music of Bruce Springsteen, Fleetwood Mac, Michael Jackson, and Britney Spears. How's that for random?
two. I've kicked my pop {soda to you non Ohioans} habit time & time again, but then Sprite rears it's delicious head at me and I can't resist. I love it. Ice cold, warm, whatever. It's my vice.
three. If I ever had a day to myself, I would stay in bed all morning watching Roseanne reruns and eating grilled cheese sammies then spend the aternoon going up and down every aisle of Target without my 2 year old shouting "I POOPED!"
four. My first job was when I was 14 at a local ice cream shop. I gained 6 lbs that summer.
five. I'm huge into themes. Like I've already started thinking about & saving ideas for Emily's 1st birthday party and Brooklyn's 3rd.
six. I could go to the Olive Garden for lunch every single day. Zuppa toscana soup, peach bellini iced tea, salad, and breadsticks....hells to the yeah.
seven. I would've bet money during both of my pregnancies that I was having a boy. Mothers intuition, shmothers intuition.
eight. Had I of been right, we would've had a Jake Ashtin and a Chase Jeffrey.
nine. My mom is a nurse & when I was younger, she would take me with her to her home visits. For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to be a nurse. And I have my Momma to thank for it.
ten. I've always been self conscious about my height (5'11"). And nope, I wasn't a basketball player. Not volleyball either. I was a cheerleader with a ridiculously short skirt because we had hand me down uniforms from previous seasons...and no other girls were amazons. Go Team Go!
eleven. I played the piano for 6 years and regret quitting. My instructor said I had great potential, but at 14, all I cared about was makeup, boys, & NSync.
twelve. I'm jealous of those with accents. So much so that when I was younger, I used to fake a British accent. Righteo!
thirteen. I wear at least 2 coats of mascara....then subconsciously pick it off during the day.
fourteen. I own at least 15 pairs of jeans, but stick to my favorite 3.
fifteen. Speaking of 3...It's my lucky number. There's a long & meaningful story behind it.

Join in the fun!

  1. It's "pop" to this Michigan girl, too! Soda just rubs me the wrong way...

  2. I totally agree, Katie! I think I've said soda out loud maybe 5 times in my life.

And Meredith, it's so true! Dustin's always like Why don't you get rid of these jeans? But I can't, a girl's gotta have options! {even though I rarely stray from the top 3}.
